M&Ds Scotland's Theme Park - all you need to know for a great day out!

I should probably start this one by saying that if you want to spend the full day here, you had better be prepared to spend big money! ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ

Due to COVID, daily wristbands are now only available to season pass holders, meaning you can only use the rides by buying "fun points".  Points are ยฃ1 each and rides vary between 2-3 points for each ride.  This doesn't seem a lot but if you're going with three kids, it can quickly rack up!  For a full list of prices click here.

The park is open from 10.30am - 6.00pm on peak days. However, all rides close from 2pm-2.30pm, meaning most people move inside to the massive indoor arcade ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’ธ.  There's a great range of games, along with an indoor carousel, bowling alley, snooker & air hockey tables and a variety of sit in and takeaway eateries.

They also have Devils Island Mini-golf and Amazonia Indoor Rainforest on-site, along with lots of food stalls, all reasonably priced. Amazonia is fairly small so the kids were round it pretty quickly but it was a fab addition to the day; you can book animal handling sessions for ยฃ1.25 each (click here for more info) but they were sold out when we visited ๐Ÿ˜ž Amazonia's main downfall was that as it's a "rainforest", the humidity levels were off the scale!!  Monica in Jamaica springs to mind ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Overall, it can't really compare to the bigger theme parks like Alton Towers but its a great park none the less, with a great range of rides and activities for all the family.  For a full list of rides, height restrictions & cost, click here.  For us, the best bit of all was no long queues for rides!!! ๐Ÿฅณ We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to get on anything ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ  I'd advise you take a change of clothes because if you go on the water slides, you will get wet!!

We all had an amazing day but we spent a LOT of money, averaging out at over ยฃ100 per head.  Considering we're a family of five, that's a fair bit of dough but having said that, if the wristbands were still available at less than ยฃ20 each, it would be a great value day out.

Have you visited M&D's post-COVID?  If so, what's your views on the wristband situation?  And did you also have to re-mortgage your house? ๐Ÿ˜œ  Leave a comment and let me know ๐Ÿ˜˜

  1. We visited a few weeks ago and was disappointed the wrist bands wear not available put ยฃ30 on the card and had to go back a short time later to put another ยฃ20 on kids had a great day out and it was great to get some sort of normality for them we went on a roasting hot day so the kids got full benefit of the water slide to cool them down ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. We have a family of six and after hearing from other families how expensive it was, not having the option to buy wrist bands, we decided that this year it was out of our price range. In previous, pre-covid years, we have visited the theme park on many occasions throughout summer and always had a great time, here's hoping they reintroduce wristbands for next year.
